Moms on a Mission has a simple premise: We believe most women would like to spend more time with friends and give more to organizations they care about. We've found a way to share camaraderie and benefit worthy causes at the same time.

Every month or so Moms on a Mission will host a coffee, lunch or dinner. These events will be opportunities for women to slow down and catch up with friends, and all of the money that would have been spent on food and beverages will go directly to a children's charity in Fort Lauderdale.

Ferial Youakim founded "Mums on a Mission" in Australia in 1996 using grassroots fundraising to support moms and families in New South Wales. In 2001, this small but dedicated troupe of moms was honored by the National Health and Medical Research Council as one of Australia's outstanding volunteer organizations.

Ferial now lives in Fort Lauderdale. She and several other enthusiastic neighborhood moms successfully launched "Moms on a Mission" in Florida in 2005.
